Killing Wolves

John Olsdtrum, a Minnesota farmer, is struggling to hold onto his land. He finds a dead cow in his pasture and reports it as a wolf kill, hoping for reimbursement from a federal fund. But when a wildlife biologist investigates, she quickly realizes the scene has been staged.

Humiliated and enraged, John sets in motion a chain of events that pulls his son Nick—the local sheriff— between the law and his father.

As the case draws federal charges and unexpected media attention, the town fractures along old fault lines. Loyalties harden. Old wounds reopen. And beneath it all lies a buried history that none of them has truly escaped.
